Spartans basketball game

We went to the San Jose State versus Michigan State basketball game at the Breslin Center. It was the Spartans versus the Spartans. Turned out that the San Jose State Spartans were not quite as good as the Michigan State Spartans. The final score of the game ended up being 85-45. Yet, it did not seem as boring of a game as the score sounds, the Spartans (the MSU ones, that is) had some great alley oops, great dunks, and great fast breaks. Those types of things always make for a fun and exciting game no matter what the score. The thing I like the most about MSU Spartan basketball, is no matter what the score is, the players and the coaches treat it like the game is tied. MSU was so excited about a three point play Morgan made, yet the team was up by twenty or so at the time... how they reacted to the play was like they had just won a championship... I love it!!! And of course when a bad play happens, or a turnover happens Izzo looks like they just lost by forty instead of being up by forty.

Christmas in California

After tearing through the presents. Notice all of the green wrapping paper.
Brady and I and all of the nieces and nephews.... and Mitz... you wonder why we are not in any hurry to have kids!!!!
Megan and her new doll, with the clothes that Brady and I got her for Christmas (we didn't get the doll.... just the clothes!!!)
Nathan wanted a picture taken with his doll and matching pj's.....
The snowman cupcakes for desert... How cute is that?
...and Logan with the umbrella we got him for Christmas. I know everyone in Michigan is scratching their head about this one, but ya know, rain and umbrellas don't really happen out here, so an umbrella is a rare thing!!!! Hahaha.

I am leaving for Michigan on Wednesday, so I will be missing Christmas with the Mandels and Burrills, so we had an early Christmas with them today, so we could give and receive our gifts! We had a great time as always!!!! Thank you to everyone for the wonderful gifts!!!! We will great use out of all of them.

Our trip to Salt Lake City!!!!

Brady and I decided it might be fun to go to an away game for the Spartans. The furthest they came out West was Salt Lake City to play BYU. We decided, what the heck, lets make a weekend of it. So we flew out on Saturday morning and got to Utah around 11:30 or so, got lunch, chatted with some very friendly BYU fans and then headed off to the game. For those of you that don't know, BYU was ranked 20th, and MSU ranked 10th, so we were up for a good game. I still have no idea why a game like that was not televised, luckily we went because the game was an edge of your seat type game. Anyway, the game started off with a prayer.... yes I said it, a prayer.... both Brady and I were taken a back for a second, we thought we were going to a basketball game, not a church service. Anyway, after the prayer, the game was underway, and I am telling you, the way MSU was playing it wouldn't have surprised me if we finished the game with 35 points... In the first ten minutes we had scored 8 points.... Definately wasn't planning on making a trip for this type of game. But in the second half it was a completely different team and we won by seven!!!! Yeah!!!! Meanwhile, we happened to be sitting next to four Spartan Alumns, and after the game met a couple of them out at the bar (bar... i know what your thinking.... they have those in Utah.... well they do, it only took us about 45 minutes to find one!!!!) We spent a good 2 1/2 hours talking to these '95 grads who now live in Denver, we talked about everything from football and basketball to the craziest thing that ever happened to us at MSU. It was so much fun!!!!!! We then flew back on Sunday. It was a great trip and I can not wait to do another one just like it!
Here are the bball boys in Pre-game warm up.

When MSU tied up the game in the second half we thought this was a better time than any other time to take a picture, because who knows how this might end up.
The Final Score: 61-68. MSU wins, after suffering a 14 point defecit in the first half!
YEAH!!!! GO STATE!!!! We were some proud Spartan Alumns!!!!
Go STATE!
