Comparing snowboarding... the Snowbowl versus Mt. Brighton

So I went snowboarding today in Michigan... And I just wanted to take a moment to realize how awesome it is that I am ucky enough to live an area that is surrounded by mountains... I want to compare and contrast my two different snowboarding trips this vacation. The one in Flagstaff, Arizona (the Snowbowl) and the one in Brighton, Michigan (Mt. Brighton).View from the top of the Snowbowl

Now, I don't mean to make Mt. Brighton look bad, I had a great time, and it worked for me. Mt. Brighton is approximately a half an hour from my parent's house so I was able to drive really quickly there this morning and get in a good couple of snowboarding hours by myself (I was actually the first person out there... I had the slopes all by myself for the first three runs)! However, I am grateful for the awesome mountains that are further out west, and am looking forward to hit more slopes later this year!

Ice Skating in Chicago!

Lauren and I went Ice Skating in Millenium Park in downtown Chicago!!! Sean and Brady just stood out and watched and took pictures! I can not remember the last time I went ice skating... Its at least been five or so years... I was a bit nervous at first and went around the first time holding the rails the entire way... but then I was fine... just like riding a bike! There is nothing like ice skating outside in the 18 degree cold!!! But it was a heck of a lot of fun!

Tour de Northwestern

The icicles were HUGE!!!!

Have to have the generic handstand shot!

We are on Northwestern's campus and that is lake Michigan and Chicago in the background!

Bowl game......

Just goofing off while we went to B dubbs after the basketball to watch Michigan State fight against the Texas Tech... The Spartans hung in there, but just not enough! Oh well, it a crazy season, and it finished the same way we finished so many of our close losses... Only NINE more months before 2010 football season! Lets go State!
